On 20 January 2026, a POCSO Awareness Session was successfully conducted at MVD High School, Dandu Bazar for Grade 9 students under the Women & Child Safety Forum of the Visakhapatnam City Security Council (VCSC).
The session was conducted under the leadership of Smt. Lakshmi Mukkavilli and was led by Smt. Seema Sikri, with Smt. Lakshmi Mukkavilli also sharing her valuable expertise and insights. The team was accompanied by Shri Naveen Jaggumantri.
The POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) focuses on safeguarding children from sexual abuse and exploitation, ensuring child-friendly reporting mechanisms, and creating awareness about children’s rights, safety, and mandatory reporting.
Visakhapatnam City Security Council (VCSC) is registered as a not-for-profit initiative and a collaboration between Manufacturing, Services and IT industry and Visakhapatnam Police Commissionerate.
