To enhance road safety awareness among women, an All-Women Two-Wheeler Safety Rally was conducted on 31 January 2026 in Visakhapatnam under the joint auspices of the AP Transport Department, Visakhapatnam City Traffic Police, Visakhapatnam City Security Council (VCSC), and Femi Riders.
The program commenced with a road safety awareness session, following which Dr. Shankaratha Bagchi, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatnam, formally flagged off the rally.
The rally passed through key city locations including:
Shri K. Praveen Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), and Shri R.C.H. Srinivas, Deputy Transport Commissioner, addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of helmet usage and disciplined riding.
The meeting was presided over by Shri C. Bala Satish, Joint Secretary (Road Traffic), VCSC. As part of the initiative, helmets were distributed to pillion riders.
The rally witnessed active participation from Smt. Lakshmi Mukkavilli, Joint Secretary – Women & Child Forum, Shri M.V. Pavan Kartheek, Joint Secretary – Anti-Narcotics Forum, members of the VCSC Secretariat team, Smt. Radhika Behera from Femi Riders, and several other women riders.
On the occasion, the Commissioner of Police urged all riders to strictly follow traffic rules, wear helmets at all times, and practice defensive driving.
Visakhapatnam City Security Council (VCSC) is registered as a not-for-profit initiative and a collaboration between Manufacturing, Services and IT industry and Visakhapatnam Police Commissionerate.
