About VCSC

Visakhapatnam City Security Council (VCSC) is a premier Public–Private Partnership (PPP) model that acts as a vital bridge between the police and the public and addresses the unique safety and security needs of the city. VCSC is sustained by the Officers in Government and Captains of Industry in Visakhapatnam to increase the preparedness pertaining to safety and security of businesses and citizens.

Overview
  • Funded entirely by its members, VCSC seeks sponsorships for various events, ensuring financial sustainability and community engagement.
  • The Visakhapatnam City Police Commissioner is the Ex-officio Honorary Chairman, and three representatives from member associations and member companies serve as office bearers.
  • Industry representatives hold membership positions in the Council, emphasizing inclusivity and collective responsibility.
  • VCSC, a not-for-profit entity, works in harmony with Visakhapatnam Police to enhance safety and security in the city, leveraging the support of all industries.
Key Objectives
  • Serve as a liaison between the Police Commissionerate and various industries in Visakhapatnam City to address security issues.
  • Offer essential insights on citizen safety, collaborating with the Police Commissionerate for public welfare.
  • Proactively address safety concerns for industry personnel and premises in Visakhapatnam City.
  • Foster public awareness on critical topics such as Infrastructure Security, Cyber Security, Women's Safety, and Road Safety.

Dr.Shanka Brata Bagchi, IPS : a 1996-batch IPS officer is also M.B.B.S. (triple gold medalist and holder of triple Honours) from Calcutta Medical College.


Visakhapatnam City Security Council (VCSC) was initially launched by Mr. Yoganand, IPS in 2016.


Visakhapatnam City Security Council (VCSC) is registered as a not-for-profit initiative and a collaboration between Manufacturing, Services and IT industry and Visakhapatnam Police Commissionerate.
